M&S Pancake mix

M&S had a ready mix pancake to go mix, saved me a lot of time and trouble on Shrove tuesday.

I really have to credit M&S for making a good pancake mix, it was thin and fryed perfectly in my pan. Yum!

They also sell ready made ones, but in that case I like the Dutch Ma Raeburns pancakes.

Shrove Tuesday did pass – and I copped out by buying M&S pancake mix which was the perfect ratio of flour to milk.

Good they were, I think I should make this blog more of a ‘pancake metaphor’.

Easter has arrived and between the easter eggs and Easter sunday deserts, I’m feeling a bit chunky. Tiramusu rocks and I have to say I’ve just eaten the last bit. Still 1 1/2 easter eggs left though….

Spied it the other day and I think I’m going to buy some. Inevitably my pancakes come out doughy or too thin.

I think using a premix removes all guess work.

It’s a good quick snack to have in the evening….if you need it. And it’s not too handy like a packet of premade ones.

Back in the day I used to eat Greggs crumpets ‘cos they were cheap…ah those were the days…40p for a lunch.

Another addiction…cream buns

Pancakes might be my alcohol, but cream buns are certainly my drugs. The above picture is a classic cream bun from Amsterdam, superior to UK cream buns.

But even so the cheap Greggs ones do work as do the squirty cream types….mmm…

Pancakes.

I just loooooove them.

Simple – eggs, flour, milk….fried to perfection….mmmm! I love them with cream or honey or both!

I found this good recipe from Delia Smith for pancakes which you should try if you’re interested in making them. Forget the bit about keeping them warm, that’s too much hassle – instead put them on a plate and cover with tin foil.
